Instructions
on how to enter and other details contained within promotional
material form part of these terms and conditions.
By
participating in this promotion entrants shall be deemed to
agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

| 2. |
Entry
is open to all Western Australian schools, primary and
secondary and whether private or public but excluding
pre-primary or kindergarten schools which do not form part of
a primary school.
|
| 3. |
To
enter, schools must register by completing a registration form
which has been mailed to schools, published in The Sunday
Times on June 22, June 29, July 6, 13 and 20, 2003, and
which appears online at www.winaschoolbus.com.au.
All
sections of the registration form must be completed.
Schools
can only register once and registration can only be submitted
by an official school representative.
Schools
can register at any time during the promotion but
registrations must be received at The Sunday Times
before the end of the promotion on Friday, October 17, 2003.

The
promotion commences on June 19, 2003 and finishes on October
17, 2003.

| 5. |
Completed
registration forms must be either sent to Win a School Bus
Registration, The Sunday Times, Reply Paid 174, Perth WA 6840,
faxed to The Sunday Times on 08 9421 1437 or schools can
register online at www.winaschoolbus.com.au
before the end of the promotion.

| 6. |
Schools
must register as a primary school (Kindergarten to Year 7), as
a secondary school (Year 8 to Year 12), a district high school
(Kindergarten to Year 10), an upper and lower school
(Kindergarten to Year 12) or Other to accommodate their school
as a total entity.
It is not
possible to enter individual classes, individual years or a
portion of the school population.
At the
time of registration schools must supply their total
number of students (both part-time and full-time).
They will
be asked to confirm the number of students again at the
conclusion of the promotion on the final tally sheet.
The
winners will be decided by tallying the number of tokens
collected by the school and then dividing them by the total
number of students in the school at the time the promotion
concludes, October 17, 2003.

Employees
of The Sunday Times, its agencies associated with this
promotion and their immediate families are ineligible to
participate.
|
| 8. |
After
registering and receiving a School Bus Collection Kit, schools
may collect as many School Bus tokens published in The
Sunday Times as they can during the promotion.
The tokens
will appear in The Sunday Times every Sunday from July
27, 2003 until September 21, 2003.

| 9. |
Only
tokens dated July 27, 2003 up to and including September 21,
2003 will be accepted.
Tokens
from the 2002 School Bus promotion will be invalid and will
not be accepted.
|
| 10. |
Each
token will feature a space for the name of the school that the
token is being collected for.
This
section must be completed for the token to be eligible.
|
| 11. |
Only
original, authentic printed tokens from The Sunday Times
will be accepted.
Copied
tokens will not be accepted. The Promoter will not accept any
claim that includes non-promotional tokens, tokens that are
defaced, tampered with in any way, or from any source other
than retail purchase.
|
| 12. |
All
collected tokens are to be counted by the school.
Final
tally sheets will be provided to registered schools and will
also be available on the Win A School Bus website (www.winaschoolbus.com.au).
These
sheets must be completed by an official representative of the
school and then faxed on 08 9421 1437 or posted to The
Sunday Times School Bus Promotion, Reply Paid 174, Perth
WA 6840 to be received by The Sunday Times by fax or
mail by no later than 5pm Friday, October 17, 2003.
Final
tally sheets must include current total student numbers.
Tally
sheets received after this date will not be accepted and will
not be included in the prize allocation process.

An
independent auditor, who is a qualified accountant, will be
appointed to calculate and determine the top 5 schools
tallies.
These
schools will be required to make their tokens available to the
auditor for counting.
Schools
must appoint a contact who will be available between Friday,
October 17 and Friday, October 24 to ensure access to the
tokens during this period.

School
numbers will be confirmed with education authorities.
|
| 15. |
The
Sunday Times takes no responsibility for missing or stolen
tokens.
|
| 16. |
The
School Bus Tokens, that will be published in The Sunday
Times from July 27 September 21, 2003, contain an
allocated space for token collectors to specify the school
that the token is intended for.
Tokens are
not to be pooled between registered schools at any stage
during the promotion.
Evidence
of collusion between registered schools will result in all
schools involved being disqualified.
Unregistered
schools who are not participating in the promotion are able to
adopt and collect tokens for a registered school.

THE
MAJOR PRIZE
There is
one major prize namely a 21-seat, licensed, Toyota Coaster Bus
with a retail value of approximately $102,000 inclusive of GST.
The French
Vanilla coloured bus is a standard model with ducted
air-conditioning, a turbo diesel engine, 6-speed manual
transmission and power steering.
In the
event that the winning school does not require a school bus,
the school can opt to receive an alternative prize of
$90,000.00 cash instead of the major bus prize.
This cash
prize will be received as a cheque made payable to the winning
school.
Should the
winning school opt to receive the Toyota Coaster, the vehicle
will be licensed for 12 months from October 23, 2003, includes
on-road costs and comes with a 3-year/100,000 km warranty,
which also starts on October 23, 2003.
Insurance
will be the responsibility of the winning school.
A light
rigid vehicle license is required to drive this bus.
The winner
of the school bus (or $90,000 cash) will be the school that
submits the greatest number of eligible tokens per total
number of students (ie. total number of tokens divided by
total number of full time and part time students) at the end
of the promotion.
The
winning school must decide whether to receive the school bus
or cash and advise The Sunday Times by October 23,
2003.
The school
bus (or $90,000 cash) will be presented to the winning school
in the week after Monday, October 20, 2003.
In the
event that a regional/country school wins they will be
required to make their own way to Perth at their own cost to
collect the school bus.

SECONDARY
PRIZES
The Sunday
Times will award additional prizes for the schools that come
second and third plus one prize for one randomly drawn school
as follows:
Second
Prize - A $15,000 multimedia package, to be selected from
the range of electronic products available at Supply West
Bookland.
Third
Prize - A $10,000 multimedia package, to be selected from
the range of electronic products available at Supply West
Bookland.
Random
Prize - A $5,000 multimedia package, to be selected from
the range of electronic products available at Supply West
Bookland.
The winner
of the second prize will be the school that submits the second
highest number of eligible tokens per total number of students
at the end of the promotion at 5pm on Friday, October 17,
2003.
The winner
of the third prize will be the school that submits the third
highest number of eligible tokens per total number of students
at the end of the promotion at 5pm on Friday, October 17,
2003.
The winner
of the random prize will be one school drawn at random from
all registered schools that send their final tally sheet in by
5pm on Friday, October 17, 2003. First, second and third prize
winners will be excluded from this draw.
Secondary
prize winning schools will be required to select their prizes
from the Supply West Bookland catalogue after Monday, October
20, 2003 and before November 30, 2003.
If any of
the secondary prize winning schools do not require multimedia
equipment these schools can opt to select alternative
electronic products from the Supply West Bookland range, to an
equivalent value.
The
secondary prizes will be delivered to the winning schools by
Supply West Bookland within 28 working days of schools
ordering their products from the Supply West Bookland
catalogue.

major, second, third and random prize winners will be
published in The Sunday Times on Sunday, October 26,
2003.

WEEKLY
PRIZES
Each week
in which the tokens are published, 20 schools will be randomly
selected from those schools registered in the promotion.
Each of
these schools will win either a copy of
- Specky
Magee, valued at $12.95; or
- The
Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, valued at $13.95; or
- Girl
with a Pearl Earring, valued at $21.95; or
- Dinosaurs
Internet Linked Discovery, valued at $14.95; or
- Collins
Australian Compact Dictionary, valued at $28.95; or
- Collins
World Atlas, valued at $45.00.
Books will
be allocated at the sole discretion of the promoter.
Schools
may only win a weekly prize once during the promotion.
The
winning schools will be published in The Sunday Times
each Sunday during this phase of the promotion, and will be
notified by mail.
Weekly
prizes will be posted to schools within 28 days of
notification.

PARTICIPATION
GIFT
The
Sunday Times will offer all registered schools that
complete and send in their final tally sheet by 5pm Friday,
October 17, 2003, their choice of four computer software
packages as a gift for their participation.
An order
form will be sent to each participating school at the end of
the promotion.
Schools
must fill out this form and return to the address listed on
that form by Monday, November 17, 2003.
Orders
will then be processed and the selected software packages will
be delivered to each participating school.

PRIZES
In the
event of a tie between registered schools, in the total number
of eligible submitted tokens divided by the total number of
students, The Sunday Times will nominate a person to
conduct a random draw in the presence of the Auditor, in order
to determine the winner.
All prizes
must be taken as stated, and are not transferable or
redeemable for cash, unless otherwise stated.
The prizes
to be claimed are supplied for use in schools and no other
purpose.
The
Sunday Times reserves the right at its discretion to
substitute an alternative or similar product of a comparable
value and similar to the prize claimed.
No claim
for prizes damaged in transit or shortages will be considered
unless The Sunday Times is notified within 3 working
days of delivery.
In the
absence of such notification the school will be deemed to have
accepted the prizes, subject to the conditions above.

22-CENT
SUBSCRIPTION OFFER
The
Sunday Times is offering participating schools the
opportunity to purchase sets of 10 copies of The Sunday
Times for 9 weeks at a cost of $0.22 per newspaper per
week.
e.g.:
- 1 set
of 10 copies of The Sunday Times per week @ $0.22
per paper = $0.22 per paper x 10 newspapers x 9 weeks =
$19.80
Newspapers
must be ordered in sets of 10 and the maximum number of
newspapers schools can order each week can be no greater than
the total number of students at that school, rounded to the
nearest multiple of 10.
e.g.:
- Schools
that have 0 10 students can order 1 set of 10
newspapers per week.
- Schools
that have 11 15 students can order 1 set of 10
newspapers per week.
- Schools
that have 16 20 students can order up to 2 sets of 10
newspapers per week.
- Schools
that have 21 25 students can order up to 2 sets of 10
newspapers per week.
- Schools
that have 26 30 students can order up to 3 sets of 10
newspapers per week.
- Schools
that have 31 35 students can order up to 3 sets of 10
newspapers per week.
- Schools
that have 36 40 students can order up to 4 sets of 10
newspapers per week etc.
To order,
participating schools must complete the Special 22-cent Offer
order form and post it to School Bus Subscription Offer, The
Sunday Times Circulation Department, Reply Paid 174, PERTH
WA 6840 or fax it to (08) 9326 8283.
For a
school to receive newspapers each week for the full 9-week
promotional period, they must place their order before
Tuesday, July 22, 2003.
Orders can
be placed after this date however back issues of The Sunday
Times for previous weeks will not be available and order
costs will be amended accordingly.
If a
school places its order at any time after the first token week
the school must place their order by the Tuesday of that
current week in order to receive their newspapers for the next
Sunday.
Orders
placed after Tuesday will only receive papers for the Sunday
of the following week and every Sunday thereafter.
Participating
schools must not send payment to The Sunday Times. A
local delivery agent will invoice each school at the end of
the competition.
Newspapers
will be delivered direct to each school, where possible, on
Monday mornings following the Sunday publication date (Schools
in remote areas will have newspapers delivered to the nearest
distribution point or town).
The first
delivery will start on Monday, July 28 with the edition of
Sunday, July 27, 2003.
The final
edition of the newspaper that will be delivered will be the
edition of Sunday, September 21, 2003.
This offer
is only available to registered schools and is not available
for individuals.

No
responsibility is accepted by The Sunday Times for
late, lost or misdirected registration forms or token tally
sheets.
|
| 26. |
The
promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be
entered into.
|
| 27. |
The
Sunday Times will not be liable for any damage, claim or
costs, however incurred, arising from this promotion, or from
the failure of schools to follow the instructions and
guidelines set out.
|
| 28. |
By
participating in the promotion, unless otherwise advised by
the school registering, each school and contact person
consents to the information submitted with the school's
participation in this promotion being entered into a database
and the Promoter (and its related companies) may use this
information in any media for future promotional, marketing and
publicity purposes including direct marketing relating to this
program, without any further reference or payment or other
compensation to the registered school.
All
details of the schools and contact persons will be stored at
the office of the Promoter.
