Wall Mural

Create a mural, tearing newspapers into leaf shapes to create piles of fallen leaves. Roll the edges and bring the shape to life. Tear out tree trunks and branches. Crumple balls of paper for clouds. The result, all in greys and blacks and whites, is quite effective.

Newspaper Pioneers

Build a log cabin from rolled newspapers. Fasten the "logs" together with strong white glue and tie at corners. Use clothes pegs to hold them until the glue dries. Cut windows after the glue is thoroughly dry. A door in front and windows on two sides works well. Or design just a cabin front for use as a drama prop attaching the rolled newspaper "logs" to cardboard backing and leaving spaces for the window or door openings. Newspaper "logs" can also be glued to the outside of large cardboard boxes such as those appliances come in. These are large enough for live-in play cabins. Smaller "log" rolls attached to milk cartons or other small boxes will work well.
