Display reports on health related articles, photos, charts and tables on a bulletin board in the classroom. Health issues are in the news often these days. Find a news item about a health-related issue. Design a creative way to summarise the key information in the news item – who or what is involved, when must a decision be made or when is an important development expected, why is the issue important, how will a decision be made, etc. Show your design to someone else and then discuss the health issue involved. Do the two of you have similar views about it? Would you categorise the health issue as high, medium, or low priority? Why? Scan display advertisements for ads for soap, toothpaste and other personal hygiene products. Have students redesign ads with a health angle if they don’t already have one. List the advantages and disadvantages of using so many cleaning agents. |
