Play a newspaper version of the game "Animal, Vegetable, Mineral". Put these category headings on a large piece of paper and draw three columns. Then look through the newspaper to find items that illustrate each category. You may use news photos and illustrations or words. Clip these and attach them under the appropriate heading. For which category is it easiest to find examples? Nature is often characterised by being very powerful. Is the power mainly destructive or constructive. Referring to the details in one news item, write a paragraph telling how the destructive aspect of nature could be lessened. Discuss the ideas that you come up with. |
